Former Commissioner for Rural Development in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi, may have been picked as the consensus candidate for the Chairmanship seat of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was that the leadership of the party in the state led by the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may have settled for Pastor Ojelabi due to his long experience of administration, loyalty and commitment to the party.
This, the state chairmanship seat has been zoned to the Lagos West Senatorial District where Ojelabi comes from.
Ojelabi has a track record of administrative experience both as elected and appointed official.
He was elected Chairman of Ojo Local Government in 1997 on the platform of the defunct Grassroots Democratic Party (GDM).
He was appointed the Executive Secretary of the newly created Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area and three months later became the first elected Executive Chairman of the LCDA.
After his tenure as Council chairman, he was elected to represent Ojo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2007 and 2011 and served as the state Commissioner for Rural Development between 2011 and 2015.
